Happy Sunday people! Hope you had a wonderful time with the brethren. Honestly, there is nowhere like church. The edification, the instruction, correction and love is unrivaled. If you do not have a local church you are committed to, I urge you to do so, it would greatly help your growth and importantly, it is God’s will for you!

Yes, today, we would talk about the gospel, what it is, what it is not and what to do with it!

A lot of folks -bless their hearts – are so zealous about God and His work, but have perhaps never really spent time to learn and understand what the Bible asks to be preached and what God did not send them to preach.

So sometimes, they end up getting involved in doctrinal arguments, preaching denomination, rules, music and a host of other things, which sometimes cannot even be found in the Bible.

Thank the Father He never leaves us clueless, He tells us what to do and how to do it.

Paul gave a solid account of the gospel that he preached.

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Wait o, I hope you did not skip that? If you did, oya, go back and read it!

Now, let us continue:

The entirety of the gospel is found in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and that whoever identifies with this is saved eternally. It is God beseeching men in love to receive what he has done.

It is the love of God that changes the man that is the focus of the gospel.

John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

Rom 10:9-11

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (KJV)

So, this is the gospel that we preach.

Please observe that the gospel is not a poverty alleviation scheme. It has nothing to do with what you have in your pocket.

God blesses everyone, believers and unbelievers alike. But the blessing of salvation is exclusively in believing the gospel of Christ Jesus.

Luke 6:35

35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

So, God is kind to everyone, everytime. See again:

Matt 5:44-45

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Did you see that? He causes his resources to abound to everyone, because He is good.

But the gospel is directed at the spiritual and most important need of man. It is directed at making man receive the life of God. The never ending life, Eternal Life!

Again, looking at the simplicity in these verses, observe that the gospel is not a teaching on right or wrong. This is a pitfall many blessed folks fall into and sometimes, it can hinder the ministry. The gospel is not about morals, even though it teaches against immorality. As a matter of fact, Christianity is not the only one that does that.

We have been saved by Grace through Faith. We are recipients of His love at salvation. We are products of His unfailing love.

This is what God has asked us to preach to others.

It is pretty simple isn’t it?

We do not need to complicate it. Preach, let them believe and they are saved.

If you are one who has not believed in the gospel of Jesus today, I do not know what you have heard over time, I just want you to know that God loves you (It is not cliche!) and he cares for you so much that he died for your sins. If you believe in your heart this moment that He died and Rose from the dead and then you say it with your mouth that you believe it, you would be saved.

It is that simple. If you have any questions, you can send me a message here and I can pray with you and provide you further steps on what to do.

To the believers already, let us set about knowing what the Bible says and doing it. You do not have to get a PhD in Biblical Theology before you preach the gospel. What I have shared is enough to go out there, in the power of prayer and the spirit. We would talk more on evangelism very soon.

The word calls the gospel the power of God unto salvation. It means that every time you preach, the power of God is unleashed to save the sinner. The message bears the ability to save the hearer.

This is why I do not like when there are a lot of gimmicks and tricks when the word is being taught (I have nothing against such preachers) but it is very easy to assume that the gospel is just a matter of facts that can be reduced to logical reasoning.

You see, it is more than rhymes and chymes.

No, I did I not just rhyme.

It is evidently powerful. It is not about how fluent you are, or how funny you can be.

The gospel is inherently efficacious.

Just writing this makes me excited already.

You wanna shout glory?

Preach it! It is the power of God! The ability of God!

In conclusion, do not pervert the gospel, it cost Jesus his life!

Do not be ashamed of the gospel!

Rom 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (KJV)

1 Cor 1:18-19

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (KJV)

Do not stop preaching the gospel, it would save a life!

Do not stop preaching the gospel, it is all we have left to do in life!

Keep preaching the gospel, you will be rewarded for it!

I call you blessed.

Have an amazing, wonderful, superblessed week!

Glory to God this is great, I’ve really been edified. Thanks for opening our eyes to see that which has been revealed but has not been clearly seen. More insight and deeper revelation in Christ name, God bless you.
